25th Continental/3rd Mass. Regiment
Regimental Headquarters: 178 Glendale Road Southampton, MA 01073
The re-created 25th Continental/3rd Mass. was formed in 1983 by a small group of people who were and still are, interested in preserving our heritage. First formed as a fife and drum corps unit with a small militia corps we soon gravitated to the Continental Regiment we are today.
Over the past 26 years the 25th has taken part in many encampments, parades, and exhibitions. Notable among these: The 200th Anniversary celebration of the Constitution in Philadelphia, the Bicentennial of Washington's Inauguration in New York City, the recreation of the retreat from Mount Independence to Hubbardton, the 225th Anniversary of the Battle of Hubbardton, the 215th Anniversary of the Battle of Bennington on the actual grounds in Hoosic, Cambridge, & White Creek New York, the 225th Anniversary of the Battles of Saratoga, NY & Fort Edward, NY and many many more. Along the way we have made many friends and have see many sights.
Our emphasis is on the lifestyles and everyday arts of the period. Our regiment consists of families, men, women, and children of all ages. All dedicating themselves to keeping our heritage alive. We are very proud of the fact that entire families are associated with us. In fact the regiment itself is more of a family unit then a military one.
The 25th Continental Regiment is proud to be a member unit of the Living History Association, the Burning of the Valleys Military Association, and a Probationary Member of The Continental Line. We dedicate ourselves to keeping the history and heritage of the American Revolution alive.
